The house known as 'Nonna Lilla' is a charming stone-built property perched in the foothills of the Apuan Alps, roughly 20 kilometres north-east of Lucca, northern Tuscany. [ local map | map of region ] It has been newly refurbished and comprises 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin), a dining/living room with open fireplace, bathroom (with shower and bath) and a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and freezer (there is also a washing machine). The house is centrally heated, comfortable and quiet - it lies close to a small road but there is very little traffic. |

There is a delightful pergola-covered terrace where you may eat, barbecue (there is an outdoors wood-oven), relax and sunbathe. The property is on the edge of the village of Focchia, where there is a shop for provisions and a restaurant that is very popular with Italians - both are a short walk from the house. The property is available for rental all year round - the fireplace makes the living room wonderfully warm. The house is an ideal holiday home for a group of four. There is a bus stop nearby, but Nonna Lilla is better suited as a vacation base for groups with cars. |
| Upon
arrival, guests shall find essential fresh groceries such as fresh eggs
(own-produce), fresh bread, cold meats, cheeses etc. - there can be
nothing nicer after a long and tiring journey. Note also that bed linen,
sat TV, towels and all other houseware are included in the price. The
swimming pool is in construction and will be ready for the 2006 season. |
